Artists statement
Marina is a member of the artists collective GOSSIP, Who is described as a storyteller through the Means of illustration and animation, taking familiar topics and explores them through a non traditional lens.
With most of her recent art works being digital in the form of videos, short animations and digital illustrations. When marina does make physical art, she works in a few different practices such as, paper engineering, abstracted art, 3D, bass relief and printmaking.
She is inspired by making, the process starts as a little doodle or idea in my journal.
SKII SET
Proficeincy in Adobe software. specifically, fresco, illustrator, rush, primiere pro and photoshop. Skills also in adobe animate, procreate, procreate dreams and movie.
influenced by music, comic books, graphic novels, poetry and animation.
Artists who influence her work are Tim burtion, Oliver Jeffers, scotty young, Hilma AF Klint, Laurie Lipton, Gerald scarfe and Emily Carol.
Her social media following on YouTube, instagram and Facebook are her audience.
SKILL SET
Experienced in,
iMovie, Adobe fresco, procreate, Logic Pro, mental canvas, photoshop and physically skilled in drawing, using wire cutter, sewing, embroidery and printmaking (silk screen, dry point, Lino, and mono printing).
Currently learning 2D animation skills on Skillshare and YouTube. Building better skills in video making.
